AMNH Dry Coral Collection

Some of our coral pieces in the dry collection at the AMNH date back to 1864. However, Roy Waldo Miner, a marine biologist and Curator of Lower Invertebrates, conducted five expeditions over twelve years to the Bahamas to retrieve coral with which he recreated a coral reef for display in the Hall of Ocean Life.
